Deposits and withdrawals are open now, on Ethereum mainnet, non-custodial, with nothing charged on either. Borrowing dollars against your deposit opens when our fee contract is deployed, and will carry one flat 3% fee.
Borrow against Bitcoin or ETH in three steps. No middleman.
It's like lending yourself money against assets you already own. The lending protocol underneath is established code that has held billions for years; StaterFi is the path through it, and nobody takes custody of your funds.
Deposit ETH or Bitcoin
Plain ETH, or Bitcoin as cbBTC, WBTC or tBTC, into the lending protocol in your own name. It stays yours and earns the protocol's deposit rate while it sits there.
Borrow up to 80%
80% against ETH, 73% against Bitcoin, 75% against stablecoins: the protocol's limits, the same for everyone, read live. Once borrowing opens, dollars land in your wallet in one transaction. Keep your upside, get the cash.
Repay whenever
Interest accrues by the second at the protocol's variable rate and there is no due date. Repay in part or in full, and your collateral unlocks the moment you do.
Built for people who don't want to sell.
80% loan-to-value
The protocol's limits, read live and shown on every row: 80% on ETH, 73% on Bitcoin, 75% on stablecoins. No VIP rates; everyone gets the same terms.
Plain ETH, no wrapping
Deposit ETH, withdraw ETH, borrow ETH, repay ETH. The wrapping happens inside each transaction; you never hold a wrapped token.
Bitcoin-first
Three Bitcoin tokens accepted, with the issuer named on every row: Coinbase, BitGo, or Threshold with no single custodian. Use the one you already hold.
One transaction
Once borrowing opens: one transaction, and the dollars are in your wallet. Repay any time, even the same day, with no lock-up.
One flat fee
3% on borrowing, shown before you confirm; nothing on deposits or withdrawals, no hidden spreads. The fee contract caps it at 10% in code, so it can never be raised past that.
Secure & non-custodial
Your keys, your funds, in the lending protocol in your name. The team can never move, freeze or recover your assets; only you can, through your own wallet.
Borrow it. Then spend it
where you already pay.
The dollars you borrow arrive in your own wallet. From there you send them to the exchange, payment app or card you already use, or on to a Lightning wallet. That step always goes through a service you choose, which holds the money for the minutes it takes.
- 01StaterFi
Borrow against your Bitcoin
Not open yet: it switches on with the fee contract. Then up to 80% of ETH or 73% of Bitcoin, in USDC or USDT, with your collateral in the protocol's smart contracts in your name, never a company wallet.
- 02Your Lightning wallet
Move it to Lightning
Send it to a self-custodial wallet like Phoenix or Breez. Only you hold the keys.
- 03Any Lightning checkout
Scan & pay
Scan the Lightning QR at the register — coffee, groceries, anywhere that shows one.
Moving borrowed dollars onto Lightning takes one step through a service you choose: an exchange that pays out over Lightning, or a swap provider. StaterFi does not run that step and never touches the money; making it one tap is on our roadmap. Listed wallets are independent apps StaterFi does not control or endorse.
Deposit to earn. Borrow against it.
Six markets on Ethereum mainnet. Rates are the protocol's, set by demand and shown live on the app; the limits below are read from the protocol and were current on 10 October 2026.
| Asset | Deposit | Borrow | Borrow up to |
|---|
"Borrow up to" is the protocol's loan-to-value limit for the asset: the most you can owe against its value. Each Bitcoin token is a claim on BTC held by the issuer named in the app.
Designed to be safe first.
Real money moves through the lending protocol, not through us. Here is exactly what protects you, and what does not exist yet.
Non-custodial by design
Your deposit lives in the lending protocol's smart contracts in your name, never in a company wallet.
Exact-amount approvals
Every approval is for the exact amount of that one action, never unlimited. An unlimited approval is the thing a drainer needs; we never ask for one.
An established protocol underneath
One of the longest-running, most-reviewed lending protocols on Ethereum holds the funds and sets the limits. StaterFi cannot change them.
225 automated tests on our own code
The fee contract and our own lending market are tested on every change, including against the real protocol on a copy of mainnet. Our own market opens on mainnet only after an independent security review. The fee contract has not been audited by an outside firm.
Straight answers before you borrow.
Can I borrow against my Bitcoin without selling it?
Yes, once borrowing opens. Today you can deposit Bitcoin as cbBTC, WBTC or tBTC (or plain ETH) into the lending protocol through StaterFi and keep full ownership of it. When borrowing opens you borrow US-dollar stablecoins against it without selling, so you keep any upside. How a loan, a wrapped token or a deposit is taxed depends on where you live, and nothing here is tax advice. Repay, and your collateral is yours to withdraw.
How much can I borrow?
Up to 80% of ETH's value, 73% of Bitcoin's and 75% of stablecoins': the protocol's live limits, read on the app. Those are ceilings, not recommendations. Borrowing about half of them keeps you clear of liquidation when prices move, and the app shows a comfortable figure beside the maximum.
What happens if the price of my collateral drops?
Your loan has a health factor. If the collateral's value falls far enough that the loan crosses the protocol's liquidation threshold, collateral is sold to repay the debt, with a penalty to whoever performs it. There is no warning first, and on a loan under 2,000 dollars the whole loan can be closed in one go. At the maximum loan against Bitcoin that takes about a 6% fall; at a comfortable loan it takes a third. The app prints the exact price before you confirm, and you can repay or add collateral at any time.
Do you hold my keys or my money?
No. StaterFi is non-custodial: your deposit sits in the lending protocol's smart contracts in your name, and every action needs your own wallet's signature. Nobody on the team can move, freeze or access your funds.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no sign-up form and nothing to enter about yourself: you connect a wallet and you're in. The eligibility rules in our Risk · Terms still apply to everyone.
What does it cost?
Nothing on deposits or withdrawals. Borrowing through StaterFi carries a flat 3% one-time origination fee, added to the loan and shown before you confirm, plus the protocol's variable interest, shown live. The fee is capped at 10% in the contract itself, so it can never be raised past that.
Is my ETH wrapped?
No. You deposit plain ETH and get plain ETH back; the protocol's own gateway contract wraps and unwraps it inside each transaction, and a loan in ETH is paid out as ETH. You never hold a wrapped token. Bitcoin is different: on Ethereum it is always a token redeemable 1:1 from its issuer, and the app names the issuer on every row.
Is this real money right now?
Yes. The app runs on Ethereum mainnet through an established lending protocol: deposits and withdrawals are open now, and borrowing through StaterFi switches on with the fee contract, which is written and tested. StaterFi's own lending protocol is separate, still in development, and not deployed on mainnet; nothing on the app touches it.
